Extreme Adventure

6 Nights: June 22-28

Int. Project: High Adventure

Become an expert in the Latonka Challenge Course...explore all the elements. Learn team building skills on our Low Course. Develop your self-confidence as you challenge yourself on the High Elements. Then top it all off with zooming down the zip line. Session limited to 28 girls. This session limited to girls going into the 7th - 12th grades.

Back In the Saddle

6 Nights: July 13-19

Interest Project: Horse Sense

Have you already earned the Horse Fan or Horse Lover badge? Get back in the Saddle again with this session designed for the girl who knows her way around the barn. After a quick review of the basics you’ll get more chances to get out on trails and ride. Jeans and boots with at least a ½ inch heel are required. Session limited to 24 girls. This session limited to girls going into the 5th - 7th grades.

Bits and Bridles

10 Nights: July 2-12

Int. Project: Horse Sense

By popular demand! A ten night older girl Horse Session! This session is designed for the horse enthusiast with previous experience. The basics of horse care and riding will be reviewed, but this group will be expanding their knowledge of horses and skill level. Spend plenty of time down at the barn, in the ring, and on the trail. Jeans and boots with at least a ½ inch heel are required. Session limited to 24 girls. This session limited to girls going into the 7th - 12th grades.


 

MORE OLDER GIRL SESSIONS

Canoe Trek

10 Nights: July 13-23

Int. Project: Water Sports

Swim, sun, sail and canoe as you spend a session on the water. You’ll even pack up the canoe and paddle out for an overnight camping trip. But don’t worry, we’ll make sure you have plenty of time for all the other fun parts of camp! This session limited to girls going into the 7th - 12th grades.

Osage

10 Nights: July 13-23

Int. Project: Council’s Own: Osage Patch

Osage Members Only .

This session is limited to members of the Latonka Osage Society. Learn about the history and culture of Native Americans in our area. Explore the history and traditions of our Home by the Water, and develop your own Osage attire. Plan and conduct an Open Osage Ceremony. Parents of Osage braves or initiates are invited to this ceremony, and will be informed which night it will be held at check-in. This session limited to girls going into the 7th - 12th grades who are members of the Latonka Osage Society.

Counselor-in-Training

23 Nights: June 15-July 12

(Not in Session: June 28-July 2) Counselor in Training Certificate

CIT I

CIT II........................$115.00

 

This two-year training session is geared to the Senior Girl Scout who is interested in developing leadership skills. CIT- I’s learn about communication, outdoor skills, teaching techniques and receive extensive background training in Girl Scout age level programs.

CIT-II is an extension of the first year, with the majority of your time spent working directly with younger girls. Develop your skills in your area of interest, whether it is as unit staff, administrative staff, wrangler or waterfront. CIT’s also plan and implement many "all-camp" activities. The culmination of your second year will be putting your skills to use developing and conducting program activities for younger campers.

Your training is applicable to many careers that you may wish to explore. This program is designed for completion in the summer before high school graduation/18 years of age.

CIT’s will also have a break from camp June 28-July 2. Session limited to 16 CIT I’s and II’s combined. This session limited to girls going into the 11th -12th grades.
